Beschreibung

Abstract – Inspired by early performance art from the 70ties in the performance circle of SKC
Belgrade (Studentski culturni centar Belgrad) I felt the urge of creating a performance that took
up several elements of different performances combining it into one, Rasa Todosijevics Drinking
Water and Ilja Soskic Sewing a Ficus Tree. This new accompilated performance is rather a remix
than a reenactment using significant fragments from the viewpoint of an art historian transforming
them and testing those positions in a contemporary context.

The performance itself combined the significant elements taken from the historical performance:

Sewing together a plant.
Drinking water from a aquarium with a living fish inside.
Writing and borrow words from the formal performance.
Throwing the fish in front the audience on to the floor.
The performance as well as the audience‘s reaction was recorded ans simultanely mirror projected
threw video on the wall behind.
